Danielle Coulter has firsthand knowledge of the intricacies of government, the result of her experience working for the Indiana General Assembly and representing Indiana county officials.

Danielle previously served as a policy analyst for the Indiana Primary Health Care Association. Before that, she served as deputy director of government affairs for the Association of Indiana Counties, where she lobbied on behalf of county elected officials, including circuit court clerks, coroners, recorders and surveyors. Danielle drafted and guided the passage of several legislative measures to promote county government efficiency. She also directed the association’s political action committee.

 

She also served as a legislative assistant for the Republican caucus of the Indiana House of Representatives. She served on the government relations staff for Indiana University and as a governmental relations intern for Ball State University.

Danielle served as Indianapolis City-County Councillor from 2018 through 2019. She represented District 23, a large portion of Perry Township on the far southside of Marion County. During her tenure on the Council, Danielle served on the Administration and Finance Committee, the Public Works Committee, and the Ethics Committee and was a sponsor of the 2020 city-county budget. Danielle previously ran for office in 2016 when she was the slated Republican candidate for Marion County Treasurer.

She is a graduate of the Women’s Campaign School at Yale University, the Hoosier Congressional Policy Leadership Series, the Indiana Leadership Forum, the Richard G. Lugar Excellence in Public Service Series, the Bowen Institute on Political Participation, and The Policy Circle's Civic Leadership Engagement Roadmap (CLER) 1.0 (local government), 2.0 (federal and state government), and 3.0 (education) programs, having served as a cohort leader for two of the CLER programs. She is a sustaining member of Junior League of Indianapolis, as well as a member of The Policy Circle, the Governmental Affairs Society of Indiana, and Leadership Indianapolis (formerly Lacy Leadership Association), the latter of which she graduated from their Opportunity Indianapolis and Leadership Education And Development programs.

 

Danielle is also very active in the community, currently serving on the Board of Directors for the FBI Indianapolis Citizens Academy Alumni Association and having recently graduated from the ATF (Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives) Citizens Academy. She previously served as President of the Perry Township GOP Club in Marion County, as well as served on the Board of Directors for both Junior League of Indianapolis and the Franklin Township Civic League. She is a past precinct committeeman and a past ward chair, and has been a member of several local political organizations. Danielle is a graduate of the FBI Citizens Academy (Indianapolis chapter), the Indianapolis Public Safety Citizens Academy, the Community Justice Academy hosted by the Marion County Prosecutor's Office, and the Indianapolis People's Planning Academy (through which she is a Certified Planning Ambassador).
