Government Affairs Assistant
Dant Advocacy is seeking a Government Affairs Assistant to work with our government affairs team to provide administrative and logistical support. This is a part-time position (15-20 hours/week) with a flexible schedule including both remote work and in office work. Essential duties and responsibilities:

Provide administrative support to the government affairs team.

Coordinate communications and interactions with government affairs clients.

Work with the government affairs team to manage legislative and political activities.

Assist with coordinating meetings and events and provide planning assistance to the team and clients as needed.

Organize meetings - including scheduling, sending reminders, and coordinating catering and other logistics.

Send updates from government affairs team members to clients.

Assist with organizing and recordkeeping relating to campaign contributions from clients.

Prepare client invoices, engagement letters, and contracts.

Assist in the preparation of proposals to potential clients.

Assist with preparing state lobbyist compliance filings.

Answer and direct telephone calls and messages.

Manage the firm’s day-to-day office operations including ordering and organizing supplies and working with vendors.

Provide high-level customer service to clients and all who interact with the firm.
Minimum requirements:

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree, including 2-5 years of individual or combined experience with any or a combination of the following: billing, office management, bookkeeping, experience with the legislative process and/or state or local government.

Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing with lobbyists, clients, legislators, legislative staff, and other contacts.

Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and with others in a cooperative, enthusiastic, and professional manner.

Ability to prioritize work and manage time effectively.

Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Willingness to be flexible with work hours.

Enthusiasm, initiative, and professionalism in work.

Excellent organizational skills.

Strong attention to detail.

Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Knowledge of Quickbooks is a plus.
